- The Merebank plant produces, as its main product, a basic chrome sulphate called Chromosal B.
- In addition two technically advanced products called Chromosal BF and Baychrom A are manufactured. Both products are blends of Chromosal B with various additives.
- The products are generally in powder form and supplied in paper bags.
Sodium dichromate, the base chemical required and supplied in the production of chrome tanning salts, is obtained from Chrome International South Africa (CISA), the Bayer/Dow joint venture. - Reduction is done by highly efficient SO2-process
90 % of produced goods are exported mainly into the Far East, Africa and Europe
